about

The Womb is a dive into the deepest parts of the oceans. The lyrical I takes the place of the human race watching the pollution and destruction it brings the earth and especially its oceans. It takes over the part of a rough child lover that is careless with his unprepared lover on one side but also sees her beauty and moans about the loss of it the t his love brings her. So The Womb can be read as the ocean's ground where the silent and alien lifeforms glow and flourish, constantly penetrated by all kinds of waste, exploration vessels with disturbing lights blinding the deep-sea animals for life and overfishing. The song is realization and dirge for the terrible things we’ve done to the planet that gave us the possibility to populate it.

The detuned synth mimicries the blurs of the water when we open our eyes to it, the string sounds are the waves as their players move their bows on them like the tide, and the main vocal is a swimmer that lifts his head when the signal is dry and dives under the surface of the water when the wet signal comes in, and the backing vocals are a swarm of small fishes following her.

In the video, Jon seems to take the role of a mermaid exploring the vastness of the sea, its wonders, and horrors until her life suddenly turns in a different direction.

lyrics

your heart is a fire
your skin is a rock
transparently floating
your blood through the mud

you were my mother
you were my bride
i shoot plastic semen
into your womb every night

it cripples your children
they hurt without sound
hide my nuclear waste
in their hoard their playground

my examination
your labefaction
my exploration
a diminution

in the womb
they live and evolve
they glow and they shimmer
in darkness they throve

the liquid shadows
shield their secret glow
they gleam and they shimmer
in darkness they throve

humble reins the silent thrown
some things shine brighter left unknown

with violent loudness and brightness
i invade their demesne
how frightened they flicker
as i ravage their reign

my examination
your labefaction
my exploration
a diminution
some things shine brighter left unknown

in the womb
they live and evolve
they glow and they shimmer
in darkness they throve

the liquid shadows
shield their secret glow
they gleam and they shimmer
in darkness they throve

some things are better left unknown
humble reins the silent thrown
some things shine brighter left unknown
